I really am not a fan of telling people what to do, even though my job consists of
patients coming to me looking for me to essentially tell them what to do in regards
to their wellbeing. But, at the start of this New Year, I’d like to take this opportunity
to tell you what to do.
Let me explain…
9.56 times out of 10 I find stress and sad (meaning overworked) adrenal glands
to be either the root of your ailments, or heavily contributing to the worsening of
your symptoms.
Some of the supplements I prescribe the most are ones to nourish your adrenal
glands and calm your central nervous system. You see, when you start your morning
(or change to fit any time of day) running around multi-tasking, fretting with your
equally stressed out significant other over all you have to do today, while watching
the fear-invoking news broadcast, while getting your shoes and socks on, while
starting your car and reading your emails, panicking because you know you aren’t
going to get out of the house in time and you and your children will be late to an
important meeting and school, while feeding your children breakfast, all while you
don’t eat your own breakfast – equals disaster.
This my friend, if done on a daily basis, will make your adrenal glands sad, and fry
your central nervous system. You know how if the cord to your vacuum cleaner is
frayed and you know it would be a bad idea to stick it into the outlet and clean the
floor, you don’t do it. Well consider this to be your body. Take the overstressed body
that I just referred to above and now put them in traffic, on the freeway, with screaming
kids in the back seat… you have now just fried your circuits. Repeat daily? Even
more fried. Bad idea. Don’t do it.
This is when you come to see me. When you are exhausted. You can’t get out of bed.
You were diagnosed with hypothyroidism and are now being medicated. You are
depressed. And your whole body hurts… Every day.
Now back to me telling you what to do for your New Years Resolution…..
Please stop the madness. If you can start to recognize when you are frying your circuits.
Stop. This well help your adrenal glands. This will help your thyroid. This will help your mind,
and body, and spirit, and entire wellbeing.
If you follow this advice, it could put me out of a job. However, I care about you. And I am
telling you to slow down. Make that your resolution this year, and you will probably feel
better than you ever have.
Happy New Year to You!
With love,
