About Dr. Letellier Smith

Dr. Jennifer Letellier Smith, ND
Dr. Jennifer received a doctorate of naturopathic medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, an accredited naturopathic medical program. She holds her ND license in Colorado and currently practices in the beautiful town of Durango.
Her path to becoming a naturopathic doctor was influenced by many people and experiences:
She grew up in a chiropractic family where natural medicines were preferred over pharmaceuticals, and the value of a healthy spine was emphasized.
Her creativity drove her to an undergraduate degree in fine art, and has greatly influenced her practice in the art of medicine.
She found the value of nutrition in her own health challenges and pursued a career as a personal chef specializing in whole foods.
Her personal journey with lyme disease has resulted in her becoming a lyme specialist.
Her intuitive abilities, energetic sensitivities, and tremendous empathy have lended to an exceptional and incomparable style of doctoring.
Her love and respect of nature has set the stage for her love and respect of the human body and its ability to rejuvenate and heal.
Dr. Jennifer practices primary and preventative naturopathic medicine and treats both acute and chronic conditions. Her strong passion for treating the root of illness results in restored health and prevention of disease, and brings about a sense of wellness that the patient may not have realized was possible.
As a naturopathic doctor she helps patients facilitate their journey in healing, brings awareness to a model of health and shifts it away from a model of disease, strengthens respect and relations across all medical professions, and in due course, contributes to the necessary healing of our planet.
Through questioning, hard work, perseverance, and dedication to becoming an exceptional doctor, Dr. Jennifer has learned that healing has a much deeper meaning than is often recognized. In pursuing that deeper meaning she has found a way of doctoring that addresses not just the physical body, but also the mental, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects. When these aspects are all addressed it allows for an opportunity to truly heal.

“I decided it was time to start looking at alternative health care. So, I went to the Internet to do some research. I found naturopathic medicine and it seemed to be everything I was looking for. Now, I needed to find a naturopathic doctor close to home… I found Jennifer Letellier Smith, N.D. in Durango, Colorado. Perfect ! My husband thought it sounded good, also… so we made an appointment for a free consultation. By the end of our conversation we were both hooked. Not only were we very impressed with the chemical free treatments (all natural supplements) but, we were so very impressed with Dr. Jennifer… she is so knowledgeable in this field.”
