Dr. Jennifer Letellier Smith, ND

Dr. Jennifer Letellier Smith received a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from The National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, an accredited naturopathic medical program. She currently practices in Durango, Colorado and holds her ND license in New Hampshire (Colorado recently passed Naturopath licensure that will be effective as of January 2014).

Interest in natural medicine started at a young age as a result of being the daughter of a chiropractor. She moved from her birth state of New Hampshire to Colorado in 1996 to enjoy the mountains and search for change. During her time in Colorado she has lived in Fort Collins, Winter Park, and Boulder, where she completed a 6-month whole foods culinary program. Her path brought her to Durango in 1999 to finish a bachelors’ degree in art from Fort Lewis College. Since that time, Durango has always felt like home to her.

As a naturopathic doctor she helps patients facilitate their journey in healing, brings awareness to a model of health and shifts it away from a model of disease, strengthens respect and relations across all medical professions, and in due course, contributes to the healing of our planet. Through questioning, hard work, perseverance, and dedication to becoming an exceptional doctor, she has learned that healing has a much deeper meaning than is often recognized. In pursuing that deeper meaning she has found a way of doctoring that she trusts is truly changing the foundation of health.

Dr. Letellier Smith treats both acute and chronic conditions. Her strong passion for treating the root of illness results in restored health and prevention of disease, and brings about a sense of wellness that the patient may not have realized was possible. Healing is a journey and even though a patient may be free of symptoms rather quickly, that is ultimately not the goal. Only treating symptoms is merely treating the ‘tip of the iceberg’. The true goal is to chip away at the part of the iceberg that is not seen, and is responsible for the body’s expression of symptoms. By working in this way it has the ability to affect the foundation of ones long-term health, restoring the body’s optimal physiological functioning, and ridding the body of dis-ease.

Since healing takes place at home as well as in the office, it is part of her work that she empowers patients with the knowledge of how to bring health back to their lives. Dr. Letellier Smith believes that healing is possible not only on a physical, emotional, and mental level, but also on an energetic level which is equally as important and often overlooked. Dr. Letellier Smith practices primary and preventative Naturopathic Medicine, with a focus on homeopathy, nutrition, and physical medicine. In addition she has had extensive training and experience in biotherapeutic drainage and core synchronism.

Personally, she strives for balance between a passion and dedication to her profession and her enthusiasm for an active life, which includes a love of the mountains and the outdoors. To recharge her spirit and maintain good health, she spends most of her time hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, cooking, practicing yoga, and exploring new places.

A recent quote from one of Dr. Letellier Smith's patient...
"I decided it was time to start looking at alternative health care. So, I went to the Internet to do some research. I found naturopathic medicine and it seemed to be everything I was looking for. Now, I needed to find a naturopathic doctor close to home... I found Jennifer Letellier Smith, N.D. in Durango, Colorado. Perfect ! My husband thought it sounded good, also... so we made an appointment for a free consultation. By the end of our conversation we were both hooked. Not only were we very impressed with the chemical free treatments (all natural supplements) but, we were so very impressed with Dr. Jennifer... she is so knowledgeable in this field."

Dr. Hailee Dover

Dr. Hailee Dover, ND

Dr. Hailee Dover is a registered Naturopathic doctor in Durango, CO. She specializes in traditional modalities that stimulate the healing power of nature. She communicates with the vital force that governs the mind, body and spirit in order to stimulate the innate ability we all have to heal. Whether you are struggling with a chronic condition or an acute issue, there are a wide variety of natural resources that can be utilized to help.

Dr. Dover likes to work with her patients on a deep level and believes that when we create the conditions for health we can reduce and eliminate dis-ease. Taken from her life experience, she likes to instill the faith that joy can be found, no matter what our life circumstances and sometimes we just require a little extra help from Mother Nature.

Her roots began in Durango where she was born and raised. She remembers growing up along the river in the Animas Valley where her mother always had a garden. Raising animals and harvesting homegrown veggies is where she learned to appreciate and respect the vital force that propels all of life. She has always been very sensitive to the needs and suffering of others and grew up nurturing her friends and family when they struggled.

Dr. Dover has always had an intense curiosity for learning and decided as a young child that she would like to become a doctor. She attended college at Oklahoma State University and The University of Washington where she earned her degree in Anthropology. She later attended Bastyr University in Seattle, WA where she received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine.

Outside of her training, through life, loss, love and death, Dr. Dover has learned that the human spirit is extremely resilient and capable of wondrous things. There is more to this world than what meets the eye. We should look to our ancestors and nature to teach us and to nurture us throughout this magic, tragic, beautiful life that we are blessed to live.

Dr. Dover followed her heart and recently moved back home to Durango. She lives with her husband, young daughter and their dog out in the beautiful Durango countryside. Her favorite things to do, when not working in her clinic, are reading, writing, playing with her family, infusing love into her cooking and soaking up nature.
